Registration fee

Group Leader/ Participant from industry: 250 EUR

Student/ Postdoc/ Research assistant: 110 EUR 

Registration includes access to all scientific sessions, lunches and coffee breaks, electronic abstract book and printed program booklet (incl. schedule and list of posters).

 

Conference Dinner (Heuriger Maly): 40 EUR

The conference dinner is intended to foster scientific exchange and provides an essential opportunity for networking and discussions between international participants, allowing for follow-up on presented work and discussions on ongoing work not included in formal presentations.

Travel awards

A limited number of travel awards (each 300 EUR, as lump sum) will be available. Submitting an abstract, independent whether for poster or talk, is a prerequisite to be considered. Please indicate in the online registration (link at the top of this page) if you would like to apply for a travel grant. A short motivation/statement on why you should be considered for a travel grant can be sent by email when submitting your abstract (see below).

Poster Awards and Best Short Talk Award

There will be prizes for the Best Posters (voted on by all participants) and the Best Short Talk (evaluated by the organizers). Awardees will be announced at the closing ceremony of the symposium.

Abstracts

Please note: Abstract submission is not embedded in the online-registration tool, but has to be done separately by email (see below) after completing the online registration.


Please adhere to these criteria when preparing your abstract
(see template below):
·      The word limit for the abstract text excluding the title and authors is 200 words.
·       Presenting author should be underlined in the author list.

Several talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. Please state in the registration process whether you would like your abstract to be considered for a selected talk.

Poster size: max. A0 portrait (84.1 cm width, 118.9 cm height)

Please note: Flash talk session for poster presenters:

Before each poster session, we will have a flash talk session with 1-minute flash talks from each poster presenter. A powerpoint presentation slide (format 16:9) can be used for the flash talk, which should be submitted beforehand, latest by 22 Aptil 2026, to ubiandfriends-symposium@maxperutzlabs.ac.at for compilation. Poster presenters will be contacted and reminded about the flash talk presentation slides.
