Sascha Martens
Sascha Martens obtained his Diploma and Doctoral degrees from the University of Cologne in Germany. For his postdoctoral training he moved to the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK. In 2009 he established his independent laboratory at the Max Perutz Labs Vienna.

Administrative Coordinator
Zahra Ayatollahi
After doctoral studies in Biology at the University of Vienna and postdoctoral work at the Max Perutz Labs, Zahra Ayatollahi is working in academic research administration since 2016: Previously as manager of an FWF-funded PhD Program, and now as administrator of the FWF-funded Special Research Program in Targeted Protein Degradation.

A Special Research Program
Our Special Research Program, SFB F79, is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) with contributions by the German Research Foundation (DFG). It is comprised of scientists from Max Perutz Labs, University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna, CeMM, GMI, IMBA and IMP from Vienna as well as MDC in Berlin. We are joining forces to unravel how cells target proteins for degradation.
