Ubiquitin & Friends Symposium 2025

The 11th “Ubiquitin & Friends Symposium” took place on 8–9 May 2025 in the Van Swieten Saal and brought together a vibrant community of researchers in ubiquitin biology, proteostasis, degradation, and related fields. The program spanned diverse thematic sessions—from UPS and cellular quality control to autophagy, organellar quality control, innovative tools, ageing and disease, and signalling. Renowned scientists and early-career researchers alike presented cutting-edge work on proteome balance, degradation mechanisms, selective autophagy, disease-relevant ubiquitin pathways, and emerging molecular tools, sparking lively discussions. We were delighted to welcome distinguished guest speakers (see below) alongside newcomers to the field. The symposium once again underscored our commitment to advancing ubiquitin-related research through a warm, collegial in-person gathering.
