ÖAW DOC Fellowship for Aleksandra Anisimova
The DOC program provides funding for highly qualified doctoral candidates. The fellowships amount to 38,000 Euros each and will support the PhD students’ work, such as protein quality control, on which Aleksandra is working on.
The interest of the Karagöz lab focuses on the the unfolded protein response, which is a protective mechanisms preventing the accumulation of toxic protein aggregates in the cell. Aleksandra studies the post-transcriptional regulation of specific mRNAs in response to stress.
